Dr. Kristin will come to your home for a vestibular evaluation, screening for BPPV, ruling out more serious diagnoses that can also include dizziness-like symptoms, and perform any maneuvers that would help clear the crystals and get rid of the spinning you’re experiencing.

Dr. Kristin will be assessing the need for a referral to a specialized provider such as a neurologist, or a vestibular physical therapist if more/different treatment is necessary.

It’s important to note that not all dizziness is due to BPPV, though a fairly common diagnosis. In the case that you are experiencing vertigo due to BBPV, Dr. Kristin is trained in the Dix Hall-pike test, Epley maneuver, and more.

What is BPPV?

BPPV is a diagnosis that generally affects one of the inner ears. It is usually described by the patient as “when I roll over in bed, bend over, look up towards the ceiling, the room starts spinning.” It can occur spontaneously or following head trauma. Patients also usually say “the room typically stops spinning after 30 seconds, but can last longer, depending.”

If this sounds like something you’re experiencing make sure you inquire for mobile physical therapy.
