Why are my hips so tight?!

One of the most common things I find on examination is a lack of hip mobility! This is often a large contributor to low back pain, IT band pain, hip labral tears, and the "mom butt."

The hip is a ball and socket joint, just like our shoulder.

It is designed to be very mobile!

Our bodies always find the path of least resistance when it comes to the way our body chooses movement patterns, and unfortunately it's not always the best way.

So, if we don't have the mobility in our hips, our bodies will find it from a joint nearby, also known as a poor compensation!

This is also why the muscles that attach into the pelvis are so important- think all of your booty muscles, inner thigh muscles, pelvic floor muscles, and hamstrings.

They provide the strength for us to move into the ranges we need,

and give us the STABILITY we need surrounding the pelvis to maintain alignment! Because muscles move bones.

A lot of women have an itch their hips are "off" or may feel some aches & pains nearby.

So, let's assess your movement patterns, muscular imbalances, hip mobility and pelvic girdle strength to get that treated for good!
